The weekly Róisín Dubh Comedy Showcase will bring you different line-ups each week - featuring the best in established & emerging comedy talent, from Ireland and abroad.

This week’s closing act: SHAWN UYOSA

Shawn is a Nigerian-born Irish comedian who has been making waves in comedy since he was 17. He was selected for the regional showcase of the 2021 and 2022 BBC New Comedy Awards, and won the Best New Act competition at the 2020 Bray Comedy Festival, and The Comedy Cavern’s Cork Comedian Of The Year in 2023. Shawn has been heard on RTÉ Radio and on RedFM in Cork, and played the character Barry in a series of sketches for Office Girl on the RTÉ Player.

Ellie Horgan’s comedy style is cheeky, raunchy and for the gals, the gays and the theys. Over the past 2 years she has travelled the country poking fun at men and speak on topics like audio erotica, navigating dating in the modern world and transforming into an absolute ride in her 30’s.

Internationally rising stand-up comedian Ian Burke is known for his dark wit, fearless punchlines, and an ability to say the wrong thing in exactly the right way. Blending sharp observations with a delightfully twisted worldview, Ian’s comedy lives in that sweet spot where audiences aren’t sure whether to laugh, gasp, or quietly reassess their morals.

A regular on comedy stages across Ireland and beyond, Ian has built a reputation for intelligent, unpredictable stand-up that pulls no punches and asks no permission. His material ranges from the absurd to the uncomfortably honest, delivered with a laid-back charm that makes even the darkest jokes feel strangely welcoming.
