Some One's Sons are a four-piece Irish folk band from the heart of Ireland. They are quickly growing in popularity, due to their energetic performances of trad classics and original folk songs.

In the last year, they headlined sold-out performances across Ireland, including Whelan’s and The Cobblestone, the national gig rig at the Fleadh Cheoil, performed at Electric Picnic, TG4 Live, and supported The Fureys. They made their international debut playing 3 performances in Augsburg, Germany.

2024 will see the Sons undertaking their biggest projects yet, headlining some of Ireland’s most renowned music venues, along with a UK debut at the Liverpool Irish Centre. It also marks the release of their own original folk songs, from upbeat, emigration songs to powerful, emotional ballads.

Some One’s Sons consists of Daniel Allen, Greg Dunne, Ray Purcell and Ger Dunne. Lead singers Daniel and Greg’ voices compliment each other beautifully in both ballads and upbeat tunes. Daniel’s voice blends sweet tones, reminiscent of the late Jim McCann, with an unrefined ruggedness, similar to that of Tom and Paddy Clancy. Greg commands a tenor that is both unique and yet timeless in nature, often compared with Luke Kelly and Tommy Makem. Backed by the booming vocals of Ray and Ger, the Sons are noted for their rich harmonies, charismatic and lively sets, while handling ballads with a delicate and passionate touch.
