Innuendo

@ Róisín Dubh (Top Bar)

Dublin art-rock band iNNUENDO are striving to unleash a world of sonic colour unto the capital. Founded in 2022 by Nora Ronan, eager to make her mark on the Irish music scene by blending contrasting influences and creating the kind of music she'd always wanted to hear.

Described by The Goo as “tapping into something pretty special,” their music has a modern edge and contagious energy, evident in their charismatic and eclectic live sets. They draw inspiration from the alt and art-rock of the late 20th century such as Radiohead, Kate Bush and David Bowie and blending it with the softer sides of indie and pop-rock such as The Strokes and Crowded House.

iNNUENDO is set to make a bold entrance with their debut EP, “On Occasion”, releasing this September through Blowtorch Records. Following a contrasting summer of singles that showcase their range, the band will celebrate with a launch gig on the 19th of September at The Grand Social, joined by Martina and the Moons and Sarah Brooki. iNNUENDO will also embark on an Ireland & UK tour, sharing the stage with acts such as Little Known and Stratford Rise. With these plans in set and their debut EP on the horizon, iNNUENDO is rapidly becoming a force in the Irish music scene.

ImageOn Occasion navigates the emotional highs and lows of taxing, undefined relationships, capturing the journey from delusion to acceptance through rich sonic soundscapes and heartfelt hooks. Influenced by the expressive and experimental nature of art rock, iNNUENDO's sound delivers a first-hand narrative that reflects the complexity of these experiences. Themes of defiance, misunderstanding, and rejection run throughout the tracks, resonating with the challenges faced by today’s youth. On Occasion is more than just a collection of songs—it's a journey toward self-acceptance and emotional clarity, offering listeners a powerful soundtrack to their own struggles and triumphs.

As anticipation builds for On Occasion, Dan Hegarty for The Goo writes: “Do you ever come across music that you rate so highly, you feel that it’s your obligation to tell anyone that will listen that they should listen to it as soon as humanly possible? With that in mind, if you haven’t listened to iNNUENDO yet, you might want to add it to your to-do list. "On Occasion”, their debut EP, lands this month. Featuring their current single ‘Brake Faster’, the band harnesses an irresistible energy, while penning songs that you’ll find hard to forget.”
