On Wednesday 10th the Laughter Lounge features two multi-award winning international comedians Ben Hurley (NZ) and Jason John Whitehead (Can). As seen on Comedy Central's 'The World Stands Up', "The Comedy Store" and numerous other stand up shows, tv panel, sketch and radio shows, Ben and JJ take to the road for a month long tour. Guest MC on the night is Kevin Gildea and there is as always an online offer of €7.50. Also there is a Boots style "3 for 2" on Bulmers pint bottles (Apple & Pear) every Wednesday during the show.
Ben Hurley (New Zealand)
With a massive but hugely likeable stage presence, Ben can win over even the toughest room. A sharp improvisational mind and well honed, original material make Kiwi Hurley a versatile act who is a favourite with the major UK clubs and winner of the Billy T and Fred awards in his homeland of New Zealand. He's a firm Festival favourite near and far, pedalling his wares and supporting the likes of Ed Byrne on his national UK tours.
“COMEDIC LEGEND” - The New Zealand Herald (NZ)
Jason John Whitehead (Canada)
JJ hails from Nova Scotia in Canada and the impact of his edgy delivery and unique perspective has been such that in his 10 years in this crazy business called comedy, he is the winner of the prestigious BBC Comedy Award, had his own TV Special, travelled the world making people laugh, from Melbourne to Edinburgh and everywhere in between, entertained the troops and made the UK his home.
“HIS DEADPAN DROP-OUT WIT IS PACKED WITH LAUGHS.” **** The Scotsman
MC Kevin Gildea- Kevin's mild manner and quirky absurdist viewpoint pave the way for side-splittingly funny ruminations. Well and truly in the premier league of comics, Kevin is a definite 'must see'.
